Flathead: Their bodies are pretty flat and their eyes are on top (as the name suggests. Every flathead has spines at the top of their heads - these are really small and barely noticeable but you may get pricked by the spines if unaware. The venom, while not fatal, can cause pain and infection for no more than about 2 days. I personally felt that it was very itchy and a bit swollen for 3-4 days, but that was my experience. Try to handle with a boga and a landing net if possible.

Spotted Scat: These fish can be commonly found near structure like beneath blue barrels and nearby kelongs. They may look harmless but they have about 11-12 dorsal fin spines (anal spines and pelvicspines as well) which are venomous! Do avoid touching at all costs and contact your guide if you need help.
- The Marine Catfish: Has venomous spines on its dorsal, and pectoral fins. I have been stung a few times before to know the intense pain that comes with getting stung. It is not only the initial shock of the spine going through the flesh but also the burning sensation that lingers for hours and sometimes days. If pain persists please please seek medical attention and go to the hospital!
